Victoria Jossel and Romy Lewis grew up in the same area of London when their families moved from South Africa in the early 90’s.
Their relaxed and warm South African families love entertaining - so growing up life revolved around food and desserts.
Victoria graduated in Computer Science and worked for Goldman Sachs for five years. She always felt like she could be much
more creative, and started a simple website to take orders for cupcakes from her home kitchen. Demand was so high that she
approached Romy, a Journalism graduate, about coming on board to help set up LOLA’s in 2007. Then the fun began!
Now, as well as running the business, they regularly work with their team of bakers to develop new cupcake flavours –
which each take about four months to perfect. Their online store is the busiest part of their business, and they have
a flagship store in Mayfair and concessions in Selfridges, Topshop and Harrods.
