As the World Cup kicks off, LOLA’s has developed limited edition cupcakes to represent each team at LOLA’s Mayfair and Selfridges. To mirror the World Cup schedule, each flavour will be on sale on the day the team plays a match. The winning cupcake from each taste-off will go on to be crowned World Number 1 at the final on 11th July. Our cupcake experts have researched the foodie heritage of each country competing in the World Cup to create classic flavours rooted in each culture. England’s cupcake has been inspired by the traditional Brit dessert, Sticky Toffee Pudding. Defending champions, Italy, will be represented with a luxurious Tiramisu cupcake and other favourites include the sweet Greek Honey and Lemon Yogurt cupcake, the beautiful Japanese Cherry Blossom cupcake and the boozy Spanish “Bizcochos Borrachos” cupcake. England’s first match is on the 12th June against America’s famous Whoopie Pie Cupcake.
